A card with Plus on it can be used in any ATM with VISA or Plus symbol (to be found worldwide) and Link branded machines in the UK :)

Dual card only works in Ireland and the UK.

You'll need to upgrade your account from a dual account to a current account and apply for a Servicecard (a.k.a Lasercard). The Servicecard has the Cirrus symbol and works abroad. Depending on your previous account history, income etc, you may qualify for the card or you may not. It works on a credit scoring basis.

You'll need to act fast as it takes approx a week/week and a half to produce new card and in the interim your dual card will not work once your account is converted,

    maybe bring some travellers cheques.
or perhaps one of your friends has a card that they can use abroad.

if so you could lodge money to that before you go and they could withdraw it for you.
