    Hi one and all.

Looking for trip recomendation for a USA trip....basically on where to visit next!

Have been in NYC (twice), Washington DC, Las Vegas and San Francisco.

What should be next on the hitlist?

Have gotten conflicting reports on Chicago, Boston and L.A.

Are there any hidden gems worth visiting for a few days?

Is it worth heading over the border to Canada?

Your experiences, good and bad, appreciated!

LA is fine..if you can drive! Otherwise it's a total pain.

Yeah i heard that alright. I clock up a lot of hours driving due to work here, so purposely dont rent a car when on holiday. Not sure if i would fancy drving in the states anyway!

Agree, San Diego is pretty good. LA is massive so there's no point going there without a car. Boston is nice but after about 4 days you'll have seen and done just about all there is there. Toronto is a nice city, but not wildly exciting. Montreal, on the other hand, has a great buzz and is reall cool. If you're looking for somewhere away from cities, Yosemite National Park in California is amazing. Also there's a place in upstate New York called Sackets Harbor which is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed in. It's a small town right on the lake and is definitely a hidden gem if you're looking for a few nice relaxing days away from it all. You will need a car to get there though.

Have you considered Seattle and Vancouver, both have a very pleasant climate all year around and plenty of attractions.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Someone else suggested Kansas City to me - anyone been?

Montreal also been getting the thumbs up so far too.

San Diego would be an option. Wouldn't mind going back to Las Vegas again too.

All i have to do now is start saving again!

Can you recommend a central place to stay in LA and near some form of transport? I'd be looking to stay near universal studios and the star walk. Disney land doesn't really interest me. I can't drive so i've no chance of renting a car, will be there for 7 nights @ the end of August.

If going to Canda try Montreal, it's like being in France or try Halifax, Nova Scotia, it's like Galway without the Spanish Arch.
The Novia Scotia coast if graet for touring around also.

    No it's pure class.
Yes New Orleans is one of the most dangerous cities in the US but if you stick the the main parts of the French Quarter you will be fine.
Drinking on the street, 24 hour opening time, women showing their breasts, nice food, well worth a visit.
