I would've have folded preflop here. You'll get better cards and you can still take one or two rounds of blinds in which someone could get busted out. As it stands, I don't see anything wrong with going all in on the flop, you'll be ahead more often than not here with second pair.

Depends on the player! Tournaments are so different to cash games, you can't diagnose hands in the same way, but if the guy has been active at the table I'd probably push and pray he hasn't hit.. On the other hand, if he is a rock you should check fold and wonder why you called the initial raise with K8!

I'm getting 7:2 here with the antes in the pot. There's very little I should be folding for that price.

Because the blinds were so steep at the final table I didn't really have a read on a few players as very few hands had been shown. Throughout the tournament though there was a lot of min raising with marginal hands. I figure that he isn't gona get cute with a big pair here and if that's true there are only a tiny % hand that he has that he hit this flop with. I thought about pushing preflop but I thought he might call with a smal pair or a weak ace. As it turned out he had 9Ts. Ugh!

I don't think it's the worst move in the world Nicky but with a min raise like that people often have quite big hands. As it turned out he didn't but you maybe could have found out for a little cheaper. I don't know though, if he hadn't hit his ten it would have been a great move. I suppose you were just gambling he hadn't hit the flop which he had, unlucky really.

Oh yeah, I would definitely call pre flop though.

I stand corrected. It was an unfortunate flop alright.

I agree with your call. On the flop i would put out a feeler bet of about 30000 to see where i was. If re-raised all in i fold and still have 70+K and am still in the running. I think that is your only play unless you have a good read on the player and know how he plays

I don't really like a feeler bet on this flop leaving me with just 6BBs. I figured his most likely holding was JT/JQ. Both of which he will push with if I appear weak. It also makes the pot over 90K and for that price I'm not really holding hand I can fold if he does push. He actually took a whole 30 seconds to call which really surprised me. Was certain I was ahead once he took more than 5 seconds to think about it.

I much prefer a check raise all in on the flop because he isnt folding a 9/overpair
so you need to worry about extracting chips when your ahead. The fact that you have a king means you should worry less about overcards hitting as you have any King hand reverse dominated.

Also I think you should definitely consider pushing preflop, you have a decent hand and it rids your self of your positional disadvantage.

That was the real mistake here. Should have gone with the read and pushed preflop.
