    Hi Guys,

I have had sky for a good 3 years now and it has been working perfect...until about 6 months ago.
Every so often on a channel the picture would go all blocky and the sound would his. I rang up sky customer care and they said it was the sky box's connection to the sattelite adnd that it was probably being moved around a lot. Fine, I sorted all that out andit was okay for about a week but now it is really bad again. I can hardly watch a full episode of something without being interrupted..

Sky are now washing their hands of the problem and say it is up to us to fix it..

What could be wrong here, please help as it is so frustrating.

    Thanks,
    Hakko

Did you run a new cable from the dish? you could have water/corrosion in it somewhere along the line after 3 years. What is your signal quality like? Or you could call sky up and threaten to cancel. I did it last week and got a free service call and a new sky+ box a year outside the warranty.

Seen as it is 3 years ago you had it installed, it seems to me you either have a pace 2500 or grundig stb. If this is the case, problem most likely point's to faulty tuner in the stb. Press services 4 then 6 and tell us what the signal level is like. If it is low, it can only be alignment, but if over the half way mark and is still giving problems, blocking, it will be a faulty set top box.

    thanks guys,
yes its a grundig box, i hope its not faulty..
I did threaten to cancel and it was perfect for a few days after but then it went back to bing blocky,im sure its sky messing about.
I will get on again and demand an engineer to come out and sort it out..

both signal quality and strength are both at half way and sometimes past it..
Is there anyway I can get free replacement from sky,if not what are my options?

    Thanks,
    Hakko

if you cant get a free replacement

    your options are
    1. buy a new one
    2. buy a 2nd hand one
    3. cancel your Sky account
