My f**king rabbit got into my room and chewed through my laptop power cable, my phone cable and my guitar cable. I'm going to kill it. Those Sony power cables are $100 on the Sony site. Hopefully I can get a non-Sony one for cheaper that will work fine with my laptop? Where could I get one in Dublin? I need to get it as soon as possible. F**king rabbit.

Which type of cable is it? Did he chew before or after the adapter?
The cables that angelofdeath linked are available in maplin. However, for a new powersupply you might try ebay. Some chinese manafacturers have made great cheap copies of certain models' powersupplies. sony (and etc) make serious money from aftermarket parts, and this charger is no exception.

Youre going to kill your rabbit for chewing through cables?
Why not leave a live cable out as a trap?

No it chewed the other part unfortunately. I'll have a look on ebay but that means I wont be able to use my laptop for a few weeks.

Unless the whole lot is chewed it may be possible to repair it by cutting out the chewed part and joining the wires back.
The wires could be soldered back together and the repair covered with a piece of heat shrink tubing.(this is the best way for a bit of strenght)

Why not cut and repair like stated above. Just make sure you insulate well enough. On the other hand, trust are doing universal laptop power supplys with changable voltage

Yep it's the DC side I need. The first thing I did was search expansys, komplett and elara.

I thought about trying to fix it but it's chewed in a few places and it would only be about 2 feet long if I cut off the damaged part. I might do that as a temporary solution though. I've ordered one from the uk for €30, that's not too bad.
I'm not sure what heat shrink tubing is but would insulating tape do the job?

I have one of those Targus power supplies that fit all there might be a spare adapter in it you could use .. If you badly stuck you could borrow it for a while...

Insulating tape will be fine for a temp job.

(Heat shrink is a rubber/plastic tube that will cover the ends of the cable and shrink around the cable and the join when you apply heat to it.)
