Final Blow

A trickle of blood exits my nose
A tell-tale sign of those hard blunt blows.
A blackened ring around my eye,
"She walked into a door" (again).
I wish someone would see through the lies.

Must stay mouse-like, or he'll hear.
    He'll know they know
And it'll be me, who has the brunt to bear.

    Battered and bruised,
I hang my head in shame.
    It's my fault.
I fell down the stairs again.
    I dropped the hot kettle.
    I spoke my mind.

    Don't they see?
    Do they fear him too?
Maybe this will be the final blow.
    Maybe they'll bury me today.

Fantastic - I really enjoyed this poem - Nice flow, but not too lilting as to take away from the subject matter. The words used were simple and so effective.

    gaud I love praise....
Sh!t I thought out loud again!
Thanx, I'm not one for big flowery language, the odd word here and there but I prefer simple effective words.

Yeah, it this one is pretty great too. In this one I really liked the phrasing and *how* you put it together, and it's a good issue to make peopel aware of.

    Good job :)

I've never suffered domestic myself or even seen it first hand but I read the biography or the third worst abused child in the history of the USA and it really sticks with you.
I tried to put myself in the victims shoes but noting comes close unless you've experienced it.

I like the dark sarcasm in it (if thats what you even call it)
And in general I like reading dark noir type poems.
Yup, it's the sarcasm in it that does it for me.

yeah I wanted to make sure the sarcasm was read so I used the italics, and dark is always good!
