Are you a member of SIPTU or IMPACT? If you are Brassingtons do a very good deal for Union members. It is around 70 euro for annual insurance for a family.

There is a massive variation in travel insurance! Alot of it depends on what u are looking to do. If you are looking to travel for a good length of time then it is worth getting decent travel insurance 12 months worldwide travel insurance should cost u about 325 Euros

If you're a VHI member you can get annual insurance for €49. It's as good a package as I've seen from any other travel insurance companies.
