My 4th 10,000 hand report

It felt good to hit the 1K mark again after a bad week last time around. I started off by instantly losing $300 on Empire which meant I was actually down money on that site over about 12,000 hands which is very very bad.

So at the last minute I moved some money to Pokerstars to get their 20% bonus and ended up nearly doubling my money there playing the same tables in just 2500 hands. Back to Empire and I started to get back on top of things again. The last 3,000 hands have been very good. I've been able to make some good lay downs and its getting easier to recognise when I'm up against a set or a bigger hand now. The more I play on Empire the easier it becomes to get a read on the players and know their habits. It's surprising how infectious a certain move can become. Once you see one player smooth calling the flop and min raise the turn with a set you see 100 more doing the same thing.

Anyway, below are the stats. Although my average dropped again this week I am still over the average of $1,000 for every 10,000 hands. Lets hope I am still saying that when I get to 100,000.

Profit from NL 6 max tables: $746.43

    Bonuses: $103

    Rakeback: $228.23

    Total: $1077.66

Total profit through 40,000 hands: $4,696.63

    "Weekly" Average: $1174.16

Well done Nicky you seem to be consistent with your results. I'm wondering how you find putting in the time. Boring or do you enjoy it?

I'm 4 tabling now and funnily enough that has helped me to keep more focussed as I don't have room for surfing and reading the forums while I play. I haven't included in the results of my earnings from other games, as I intend these tables to be my bread and butter if and when I start to play full time. I also play tournaments but I'm on the worst run ever. I think I'm about even or slightly down in tournament buy ins for the year which is very frustrating. I don't get bored, at least not half as bored as I get in my tax paying job. :)

Well done, very impressive weekly average.

What do you think is your biggest leak/weakness in the game?
Have you cleaned out any particular players for serious money - as in repeatedly taking their money over the last month?
Do you think you'll ever move up to 1/2?

I'm planning on playing full time the week after next, as soon as NTL hook up the broadband. Don't expect to be making a grand a week though, I'm aiming for about €500.

I have notes on a couple of hundred players at that level that I keep an eye out for, about 10 in particular who are complete maniacs with deep pockets. I always aim to beat a level consistently enough so that I can justify stepping up to the next level and only when I'm very well funded.

    Well done, keep it going.
I always look forward to reading your posts because it is realistic, none of this "I am making so much money on the internet and I'm only playing 2 months etc"
Anyway that is my little rant out of the way.
Looking forward to the next instalment.
