And a few days ago he says to orlaith "do you think you're gonna win", orlaith gives her answer then asks the same question back and he replies "o I would not be so presumptuous" bladda bladda bladda *orlaith leaves the room* and Derek starts saying (to the camera) "o how stupid is she to ask such a question" after him asking it to her first.

ahhhhhh. what a hypocritical príck. (not to mention him giving out that orlaith says she wants to leave but wont when he done the exact same thing)

and his big stupid face whenever he gets angry. he looks like he's gonna start laughing. I donno how they keep a straight face.

Agreed!! An remember when he suggested that Anthony was gay & then when he was confronted about it, he completely denied it. Like is he stupid, does he not realise that a few million people are watchin and know that he did in fact say that!

Derk can be conniving but I think he was the only person who would have (and did) enjoy the solitude of the secret double agent room.

I find him entertaining, even though sometimes he has little tolerance for those he considers lower than him on the pecking scale.

You have to enjoy him for the eccentric that he is...

If you had've listened carefully you would of heard that he said that he felt like Churchill when he was holed up in his bunker.

And his bítching about Orlaith is not necessarily about the fact that she said that she wants to go, it's the fact that THAT'S ALL she ever says. Everybody is allowed a moment of weakness but don't bloody go on about it all the time FFS!!

But yeah, he is a bit of a wánker alright. And most definitlety a hypocrite.

Kinda agree with you - he does get right on my t***s but he can be funny sometimes. He is such a toffee nosed git though. For all his intelligence he has no manners in regards of how to treat others. He looks down his nose at everyone "bloody commoners". That's what annoys me most - to me everyone in life is equal - what is it that makes him think he is a few steps above the rest??

He doesnt have an awful lot of intelligence. He may have politic-smarts but thats about it. All his blowing on about Shakespear - he misquotes. His definitions and his "oh-so-knowledgeable" way of speaking is hiding a lot. He gets it wrong most of the time, but because the rest of them in there are from either foreign lands or have more interest in sports etc, he gets away with it.

Its also because he's older. Most older people would know a hell of a lot more than the younger ones in there, and he gets away with his limited intelligence because none of them can pull him up on it.

Agree completely. The dumbasses in there (Eugene excepted but he's too nice to say) haven't the grey matter to catch him out.

did anyone see the other night when he was bitchin about orlaith to makosi and orlaith walked in, then he covered it up and start havin a conversation with Orlaith about if she thought she'd still be there on the last night? if u missed it, basically HE asked HER if she thought she'd still be there on the final night and she said she definately wouldn't, then she asked him the same question and he went on a mad one and start callin her a silly girl and was all like "oh i cant believe she asked me that! what a horrible girl!". hes an idiot.
