I was front row for oxegen in the new bands stage. They were excellent, albeit quite ugly. The bassist is great so you can't help looking at her tho

They played some of their slow, cigarette lighter-in-the-air stuff but a also a few really original alternative country things. Dunno if I could be arsed seeing them again so soon after. If it was interpol.... well thats a different story....

Oh yeah. It's on just two days before Ireland take on France in the World Cup Qualifier for those who care.

They were excellent at Oxegen and I reckon the album will always work well live. Hate the Ambassador as a venue but what can you do?

I just hope they give us a better show than some Dublin debutantes I've shelled out to see recently. A full-price ticket warrants more than a 45-50 minute run-through of the album.

The bog standard thing to do when ya have an interview with an irish mag, claim to be one of us! Good band but don't think i'd go to them, they're so so ugly!

I might wander along myself. Whats with all the retards in this thread btw? Who cares what the band look like and who on earth watches 'music videos'?

well, considering there's around 15 or so music channells, i'm guessing alot of people watch music videos.

personally, i think a bands music is more important than it's image.

i watched their video on launchcast, and thought the song was muck, the video just made it more anyoying.

    fekin salad dodgers!

Lads, I never heard this band but I've seen their name around for the past while...
I have no sound card on my PC so I cant listen to their music. Could somebody describe the type of music that they do?

Thinking of buying myself a ticket for their gig, thats why...

It's hardly retarded to point out that a fat band are fat. Everyone cares what a band look like, if you don't why don't ya save your money put on their cd and shut your eyes. Ya need to have a good look to get a good image, and hence pull off good stage performances!

    What a load of ****e!

I go to a gig to hear the music, yes the MUSIC, live! I don't give a **** what a band looks like...that's why so many people love Elton John-coz he's such a ride! ffs!

I'm going to the gig because I like their music and want to see how they perform live, how they live up to the sound-LIVE!

If I want to see how they look I'll bloody look at a picture!

Tickets can be bought from the Forces of Evil for €22.50, plus whatever extortionate margin they pile on top.

Always a bit tricky, this. They play guitar-driven pop music with lots of hooks, harmonies and usually a standard verse-chorus-verse structure.
Nothing hugely original but quite a relief from all the "new" bands who want to relive their 1980s infancies by slamming guitars and drums at 90mph while ignoring decent memorable songwriting.

And yes, they are a bit fat. But you know what... you'd never guess by listening to their music. Imagine that!

Have you ever seen a good opera, gospel music or the Kaiser Chiefs?

think thrills-sih but infinitely better and more complex

They remind me of Mercury Rev (around Deserters Songs), Low, a bit Yo Yo La Tengo and of couse they have listened well to the Beach Boys catalogue. Much better than the sexless metal drivel that tweaks the nobs of the average acne riddled self abusing Irish teen.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard!

    I bet you're on myspace.com, what's your address!

A band's image doesnt matter at all! They play MUSIC! they're famous for their MUSIC not being hot

I can't believe there are people who think like this. People go to gigs for music, you're missing out!
