    the network premiers?

They did it with The Matrix and The Wild Wild West when TG4 had shown them a year or so before hand.

RTE sometimes do it when movies have already been shown on TV3.

apparently, due to the ever increasing girth of their male presenters, they either had to go widescreen, or give us paoramic views of the news and sports desks :)

Wouldn't it be great to drop the DOG's altogether.

You do realise the station has its own managment! What does DOG stand for?

Perhaps something with 3 blue squares and a yellow might be called for ;)

Nothing to say that they couldn't apply the same stylistic branding as ITV, if CanWest agreed.

TV3 claim its a premier because its the first time its been shown on terrestrial FTA in the Republic !
Then RTE claims its a premier because its the first time its been shown on terrestrial FTA in places that cant get TV3

Its rather besides the point that the film has been available previously on DVD or overpriced encrypted film channels I mean If you want to go down that line of argument then $ky "premier's" have already been shown in the Cinema (not to mention being available on DVD for several months) or taking the argument to its extreme loigcal conclusion even your local cinema doesnt show "premier's" since they films were probably available (albeit illegally) on p2p downloads or dodgy market stalls

I have often wondered what TV3 managment actally do, alot less then HTV or UTV management I would guess.

But I don't think it is down to the management of TV3 weather it goes for an ITV style logo ala UTV.

Most of the management of TV3 are Canwest/ITV appointees. i.e. Rick Hetherington being from Canada and others from both canada and Britian. I am sure their are a few Irish people.

Hmm, I thought it was because it's called a "Network TV Premiere" it referrs to it being the first time on their network, otherwise it'd be a National TV Premiere.

    /me shrugs

Back on topic, a bit of cleaning up at TV3 would be no harm. I hope they stop that thing where when an adbreak for a programme comes on, they follow it with a stinger for a completely irrelevant programme that will be on later, instead of a stinger for the programme you're watching.

Personally I think it looks dated at this stage.

The current set of Idents for RTE TWO and TV3 are the most boring ever.

The need something like the C4 idents or the TG4 idents (TG4 could do with more Idents).

TV3 will have a new look in the new year, Dynamo (designers of TV3's 3 and TG4's 4) will not be creating the new look. However they will be responsible for the look of Channel Six and City Channel's C..

They are partially responsible for the look of city and 6 but there is another company called Intermission Studio who are doing some of the Graphics and Idents.

Are TV3 not getting rid of their 3?

I assumed this since we all know that each station has new graphics every year or two. And thats not really news.
