If I have 2 x 256mb of RAM and I only have 1 empty slot left on my motherboard can I put a 1 x 512mb chip in? Will the system recognise it as 1024mb, or is there a chance it mighten like the combination, you know some motherboards like pairs. The RAM will be the same speed ie PC 3200. Could there be problems there?…

make sure you have the 2, 256mb chips twinned if they are dual channel other than that no problems
