Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on the best way to hook up a plasma (which has composite, vga, s-video and all the connections), sky digital decoder, dvd player and vcr.

It's a messy configuration, and I'm using the VCR for the cable channels (tuner). At the moment I just have everything hooked up to each other through SCART, going to a BNC video input on the plasma. I'm using SCART for convenience, since SCART automatically switches to the DVD etc when they are powered on. Trouble is SCART quality is known to be crap, and the sky decoder doesn't have any other outputs. Any suggestions as to how to improve picture quality and set up, perhaps by buying extra equipment or something? I'm no AV expert, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have a look at this thread I posted...

I bought the Iscan Pro which allows you to connect multiple devices to to Iscan then the Iscan has one connection to the Plasma via Composite RGB.

My DVD is directly comnnected to the Plasma via DVI (as the plasma has a DVI connection)

I was thinking of getting a another dvd but a recorder as that has the TV antenna connection as my plasma does not have a tuner...

First of all SCART can carry composite, s-video and RGB. So you need to talk about type over scart (RGB over Scart etc).

Sky is best connected on RGB over SCART for two reasons. First you can use RGB (if your plasma allows RGB on the scart) and secondly it will do the auto widescreen switching (again if your plasma supports it). This makes watching sky channels much easier! In the setup screen of your digibox you can switch between PAL (composite) and RGB to test if this works.

I'm not sure from your original post if your plasma has a SCART input though!
