    Hello,

Apologies for the seasonal inappropriatness, but our MD here has been asking the Social Committee for some ideas and organisation of the companies Chirstmas Party. I guess he just wants its sorted before the end of the summer so it's not a rushed last minute thing.

I'm sure most of you are employees of some place; what have your job organised in the past? Did it go down well or was it the worst idea ever?

    Any feedback/suggestions/ideas/do's & don'ts are appreciated.

I'm sure they're some great (and horrible!) stories out there!

The numbers involved are roughly 200 people.

    Cheers

    bru

Multi-Party nights are in the RDS again. Went last year and had a brilliant time. No humping around pubs and restaurants cos all there already. Going to keith Barry or Aprres Match there again this year. Cant decide which.

Book a hotel out of town where there is some daytime activity - golf, shopping, spa, paintball and then dinner and entertainment in the evening. Arrange an all in deal with the hotel so that everyone stays in the hotel and you have nobody drink driving home. Have coaches bring people back home / to work the day after.

Make sure employer chips in at least half.

Yep - rule number 1, make sure the employer chips in heavily :)

Bump this thread once more and I'll lock it, m'kay. Just post with additional information if you want to get it to the top of the forum.

Providing the location, budget, type of business, type of employee etc might help people suggest places to you. I'll assume it's a Dublin based firm, but you should really say so.

Plus, how far are you willing to travel etc?

    Fair enough.

Dublin company, roughly 200 employees, budget will be several K, its a young company in the IT sector. Dublin locations and suggestions only please.

No need to troll. If you can't contribute to a thread don't post in it. Or if you insist on doing it, don't be suprised when I ban you for a while :)
