    Hi,

I will be in Barcelona over the coming weekend on business and will be free all day Sunday. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a dive center there. I assume the med will be nicer than the sea here at the moment.

I have tried PADI site and any center I called do not speak English :-(

    Thanks!

    Mark.

GUys Barcelona has no dive scene afaik the port is too commercialised. if you have the time head towards Girona and on to L'Estarit I think about 2 hours north of Barcelona. Medes Islands are the main attraction and are really worth a visit time permitting. You have to book via one of the boat providers as you need a license to dive them (marine reserve) Trains from barcelona are regular but i found it hard to get the right one as there were national regional and local trains each ticket place telling me to go to the other. The train we got in the end was announced at the platform minutes before departure and we leeged to the platfrom but i was 30 mins on it before i was sure it was going in the right direction. If not enough time head to Figures about 1 1/2 hours i think and try Montgo but you will need transport to get rom station to Montgo. Not an awful lot to se there the islands are really where its at. As a clube we dived with La sirena and found thgem very good Hugo is the guy to talk too and was advertsiing in subsea recently afaik.
