    Hi all,

Well after 5 years it's time to upgrade my Squier tele to a Fender tele. I was wondering am i better buying new/2nd hand buying online or in a "real" shop.
I don't want to spend more than 1000€

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Cheers
    Flop

Well, if you order from an online store you will undoubtedly save a lot of money. You might be able to try the tele you're planning to buy in a shop in Ireland to see if you like it. However, that doesn't mean that the one you receive from the online store will be just as good. If you buy in a shop here you know exactly what you're getting but you pay more. You do get better customer service though.

Take a look in musicmaker on exchequer street. They have the best selection of teles in Dublin. They have terrrible customer service and over bearing fools of staff though.

www.guitarbargains.com is probably your best bet online.

    This Ash Tele is nice.

It might be worth having a look at the Jap Fenders on Ishibashi. Excellent value for money and comparable with the US models but a fraction of the price. Just do a search for Ishibashi or Jap Fenders and you'll find a bunch of threads that'll answer all your questions.

There's a guy selling a nice 50th anniversary tele through boards at the moment for €700. looks like a nice one.

Check out G&L Tele's, kick the pants off most Fenders.

G&L ASATs are harder to find outside America. They do tend to be quite cheap 2nd hand though.

That 50th anniversary tele on boards is overpriced, IMO.

A Korean Tribute ASAT, not an American ASAT. The Tributes are great for the money though.
