    Ok currently i have a

    700mhz (dont laugh) AMD Athlone
    320mb RAM
    3dfx Voodoo3
    Creative Sound Card
with a few other non important things....

Anywho i'm planning a MUCH needed upgrade, Now Komplett.ie have a pretty good selection but should i go Athlone or Celeron??
They have a loada good Ugrade kits at okay prices but i dont wanna buy a kit with like 256mb RAM when i already have 320mb RAM, so i mught just buy the CPU. So my list right now is just a new processor, new HD and depending on the processor a new MotherBoard.
So i'll leave this up to your guys, which processor?
I'm not too pushed about going over the 1.8Ghz mark either cos i dont really think i'll need it. and on bit of a Budget too....

Will you need a 64bit processor?

To experience the wonders of windows XP64, or (dare I say it) Windows Vista64.

    If so, go AMD.

Your ram won't work with any CPU or motherboard made in the last couple of years, as it will be regular SDRAM, probably of the PC133 variety, whereas modern boards take DDR or DDR2 ram.

    You're going to need:
New CPU, motherboard, ram, and probably a new graphics card unless you get a board with a crappy integrated graphics chipset. You will probably then need a new power supply to power all of this gear.

    Just don't get a celeron.

    Also, AMD Athlone? :D
