Try to see the showdown for cheap? there's load of hands that beat you but you can't be sure he's not betting AJ this way. I'd only call the river if it was a smallish amount compared to the pot.

It's a tough one without having any info on the player. If he's a poor player he'd do this with J and high kicker. The check raise means it's only $7 more to you into a big pot so he wouldn't be expecting you to fold for that price. It does look like he's been trapping you so I'd say you're beat.
I don't really see much you could've done about this, you have to bet hard with those KKs and it looks like you got unlucky. Maybe a $4 turn bet would've minimized the damage, but I don't have a problem with the $7 bet.
I'd call on the end as it's 4-1 for your seven quid and if he's poor you could have him beat. Also I'd pay the $7 to see what he has here for future reference.

I think I did get a bit carried away on the turn. After he called the 4$ bet on the flop I should have given him some respect but I was very wary of showing weakness as I was out of position.

Turns out he had flopped a straight after calling the raise with Q10. But as we all know slow play = no pay as the river was an eight for 8's full of Kings. I was lucky but I think he played the hand even worse than I did.
