ok, can anyone tell me if there are any special regulations or money payments (likely in this country) attatched to sending a CD by normal post.

and if its to another country, say the UK?

if someone could pm me quick and tell me i'd be much apprciative. thank you

Not that I know of. What type of CD are you fixing to send?

No. Just make sure its adequately protected.

Just put it in a padded envelope and thats it. Is a padded envelope the same as a jiffy bag and if not what is a jiffy bag? That came inton my head when thinking about a padded envelope.

I've been sending so many cd's off lately to mates in the UK that I haven't bothered with jiffy bags or any of that. Just been bunging the discs loose into an envelope and then its just normal postage rates as you don't have the extra wieght. It's cheaper for me to just make another copy and resend it again if the discs were to get damaged, or more likely just not arrive, than to bother messing around with any packaging.

Just get two pieces of card and place them on either side of the CD, and then tape them together. I've sent and received many cds in thais fashion, and it's always worked fine

I've been sending cds all over the world for the past 10 years. I send mine in bubble envelopes. If it's a cd in a cardboard sleeve I use extra cardboard to protect it. Make sure you have a sticker with your name and address on it and a green customs form and airmail sticker. Never had one go missing on me yet!

Yea, use extra cardboard to protect it. And then stick it in bubble wrap.

Nothing is "off topic" in after hours, unless there is another forum better suited. After hours is a catch all, albeit with a social bent
