This sticky is a collection of useful links to information on Tax and Worker's Rights. Please do not clutter it with discussion, that is what the rest of the board is for! Hoepfully this sticky will help answer people's questions quickly and easily.

Any posts added to this sticky should only include more links to help users of this board. Please feel free to do so, it will be appreciated.

    Tax

The Revenue Commission of Ireland's main site - Excellent site and should be looked at by everyone. Essential reading for anyone who pays tax, ie all of us.

    Of particular interest:

Section on Taxes, Duties, Tax Credits and Exemptions - Read these!! Find out what you are entitled to and what you have to pay. There are online forms linked to each FAQ, so claiming said credits and exemptions couldn't be any easier.

    Worker's Rights and Public Services

Citizen's Information - Information on all public services and government acts and legislation. Written in plain English with a minimum of jargon and legalese. This is a fantastic resource, make use of it.

Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment website - Loads of information here on entitlements, agreed industry rates etc.

    Of particular interest:

The Employment Section - This has every piece of legislation that applies to employment in Ireland and abroad spelt out in plain English. Everything from worker's rights to starting a business to pensions and notice periods required is here.

Since it comes up so often: Unfair Dismissals: In plain English, what counts as one and what doesn't.

There is plenty more out there that can be added to this list. I just find that myself and others are constantly referring people to either of these sites and that there is no excuse for it.

It's your own responsibility to educate yourself with regard to what your rights are and what you are entitled to. I hope the above helps people in achieving this.
