working on satellite and terrestrial in Waterford City.

    are you viewing on cable?

[edit] on satellite the picture is fading out every few minutes, it is also DOGless while analogue has the DOG. odd [/edit]

I've noticed blank screens and grey stripes etc. on it today....

    Very odd indeed..

Right now on ntl Analogue, there is sound and picture (albeit with a half second drop every minute or so) It is "DOG"less too (although that might be to do with there being sport on)

I didn't find it too bad, however black flashed up on the screen a few times.

A mate of mine works in Tg4 and the problem was the box (CODEC) that encodes the signal to transmit it over the RTE TX network. The signal was off air from around 4:15 to 7:45. A SNG (Satellite newsgathering Vehicle) was dispatched to transmit the signal to donnybrook to get it out on the network. Yes its a FXXk up. NO it shouldn't have happened and YES they are working on a new back-up plan. Best wishes.

PS the little burnt in logo is called a BUG (who came up with DOG?????)

"Are you certain? You speak in Irish. (Grammar and horrible letters in English also)." - Is that accurate for the brackets part?

I'm actually okay at Irish - but the "As Gaeilge" programmes on TG4 are just tacky IMO.

but the "As Gaeilge" programmes on TG4 are just tacky

It depends on the show IMO. Like any other channel I guess.

    As Gaeilge, a deir tu.
    In Irish, you say.

(My Gramar and Spelling is horrible in english as well)

Spelling might be Litúr. I am not sure.

I think I am directly translating to much there.
