Best On-line Poker Room - UltimateBet???

I was just wondering where people thought was the best on-line poker room. Everyone here seems to play at PPP/VC, Stars, Party or Ladbrokes, and I was just wondering if there is any reason why noone seems to play at UltimateBet.

I have found after playing on PPP, Ladbrokes, Party, Empire & Pacific that Absolute is by far the best, the software is much better, there doesn't seem to be as much variance in my game as in Party or PPP, the level of player isn't as fishy as Party or Pacific but still very easily beaten at the .50/1, 1/2 NL levels.

I also find their tournament structures are much better, both STT and MTT (much easier to finish in the money if your a fairly decent player, because of the structure)

I don't work for them or anything I just wondered if anyone else played there or had a reason not to,

I must admit that pretty much the only site I haven't played at is Poker Stars, So I can't compare it to there, I've stayed away from Stars thus far because of the level of player there seems better than elsewhere, but it's my next stop after Ultimate.

My favourite site is pokerstars at the moment for both cash games and stt's.

For cash games, the players are slightly worse at Party so you can make more money but on PS at least there's less idiot play so you can succeed on putting your opponent on a hand a bit more. PPP/VC are also ok but there's a lot of all-in merchants there and I prefer not having that sort of variance that that generates in my results. Ladbrokes and GamingClub is quite tough but I occasionally play there.

For stt's Ladbrokes can be ok too but the players seem a bit better than the other sites. I don't like the structures at PPP/VC and PArty for stt's or mtt's.

Most mtt's on PPP/VC seem to either be speed games or rebuys at the buy-ins i'd like. I also find even the 12 minute blinds a bit too quick there. GamingClub and Ladbrokes has some nice mtt's but I don't play them all that often. PS is also pretty good for them but the fields are normally very big so it takes ages.

Also the frequent bonuses on Party and Pokerstars keep me playing more there than on other sites.

As for UB I've stopped playing there due to the muppets that pass as their support department and the fact that I don't believe they take their promise to offer a secure and fair playing environment seriously.

I don't think any site is ever going to leapfrog Pokerstars as my favourite, but Full Tilt is definitely getting there, especially now that they have hand histories. They offer a lot that other sites don't, their tournament structure is lovely and you can play against big name pros at the low limit tables.

fcuk it, its all bingo anyway right : )

my advice would be to play live more.... less chance of you smashing your head off a wall trying to understand other players are thinking!

    live.......thats the best room

Funnily enough I find it harder to comrehend players actions in live games. Most of the maniacs I've played with couldn't beat the online penny tables. "Hmmm. I have Queen, that's a good card right?, I should call 'cos the 2 might make a straight"

I have to agree with you on that one, because I'm a novice when it comes to reading people, I find it much easier to read people on line once I have their patterns down, where as the patterns do work in live play too, and even after reading Caro's Book of tells, and practicing when I'm not in a hand to try and put players on hands, I find it alot easier to read an on-line game than a live one.

But back to the topic, I have been thinking about going to Poker Stars, but I didn't think they were great about giving bonuses, is that still the case??

where are you playing! : )

in fairness though it is harder to understand when players make a bad move in a live game, because you actually SEE them doing it.

You are watching the player as he thinks about it and you watch as he makes a horrible move/ call.

playing online sometimes im convinced im either playing a child that is on 'daddy's' account, or just someone who's playing badly as a joke or for a bet or something.

Off topic, i was so pi$$ed off yesterday at getting knocked out of 3 big tourney's on PPP by HORRIBLE calls, that i decided to go into a few cash games and make some terrible calls of my own.

Needless to say i won $250 dollars in less than an hour on some of the worst calls you could imagine. I cracked aces with 6 7, Kings with twos etc. I chased every inside straight, backdoor flush, and hit a few miracle 2/3 outers!

PPP really does reward bad play!!

i might be on to something here.........

Just started playing cash in the Merrion recently, but before that in home games mostly, and I have to admit it was alot easier reading the players in the Merrion than in home games for me, especially knowing that you're playing against people that at least know basic strategy, whereas in home games are the pleyers are just purely gambling where for example an UTG 4x BB raise means nothing to those players and will still call you with crap, and I find it's almost impossible to put those players on hands. All you can do is put more pressure than normal with your big hands to make them pay for bad calls, (meaning you will lose more with your AKs then normally, when they catch either the J or 4, that they called you with.

I'm sure I'll be told you can win much more against these players, but I prefer to build up slowly, and not risk all my stack on one or 2 hands, (obviously unless I hold the nuts) Just my style.

When they are at a table the table is highlighted in red. They have there own tables with seats reserved for them at various limits. I've played a lot with Hoytt Corkins at his 3/6 limit table. Its actually good to play at their tables because you get all these muppets playing above there limits so they can say "I played with the pros". I once played a $10 SnG with Eric Siedel and was at Andy Bloch's table in the Bustout Bonanza a few months back. I've been at JohnnyBax's table a few times in MTTs. I can't remember his real name but he won a WPT even this year and is affiliated wit the site. The only pro I've ever played with an ony other site (that I know of) was Matt Matros on Pokerstars.
