Battery powered Games Console advice needed

Am going away with the family in a few weeks. Bringing a portable DVD player (little small fellow with 7 inch string) to keep the kids amused when travelling and when it's raining and we're stuck indoors.

The DVD player can take an audio and video input feed, so I'm thinking about getting one of those battery powered consoles with the built in games to add to the array of things to keep the kids happy.

Argos are selling one off at the moment for 9.99 (probably won't be in their next catalog), it's called the Twin Light Blaster Joypads - 21 Games Built in Games (catalog num, 372/6037).

Can't find anything about it on the internet though.

Has anyone any experience with this (or other such battery powered consoles)?

It's only 9.99, so I'm not expecting Much. And even buying it for 9.99 and tossing it because the games are terrible is not a problem. Just looking for any user experience in this area.

    Thanks...

Hmmm, I had one of those before....

In the shape of 2 N64 Controllers, althought they come in many incarnations.

Worked fine for me, no complaints at all really. One thing to note is, they are always 8-bit games (ie Original Nintendo quality), but they can be a bit of fun and do pass some time.

So if your kids don't mind playing games that old, then it shouldn't be a problem, and should provide some entertainment
