    Hey all,

Every so often a small dialog box pops up saying....

    "Reg:0x26, Temperature_Measurement_MachineJP4=Reg_Val4=-1 degree of c"

nothing seems to happen after this, I just click on ok and it goes away. Somethin tells me its a temperature thing to do with my 6800GT. Thats currently running at 51c(in or around) and goes up Im sure while playing games. Recently I bought BIA:Road to hill 30 and things started to go a bit awry. I'd get strange system lock ups, etc. Now I don't have the ideal system for my graphics card to be sitting in but its only temporary. What I really want to know is what does the above meassage mean? Is it the end of the world? should I turn my PC off now, this minute, until I have a more suitable rig?

Any help would be much appreciated?

The idle temp of 51c is nice and low so it cant be that.

Have you seen the alert on a clean install of Windows with current drivers???

Hate to disappoint you all but already did that... Even rolled back drivers... and anyway since then it decided to give up the ghost. So back it went to Gigabyte and a replacement is winging its way to me now! Woohoo... Hows that for beautiful customer care!

    Thanks all for ur help!

    Hi,

if this not the ideal computer you have it sitting in, tell me:
Whats your powersupply like, how many watts has it?
    A 6800gt is a powerhungry beast... :)

Also if your mainboard has a VIA chipset make sure u have the proper AGP (Via4in1)
drivers installed, same for SIS chipsets, not so critical on intel ones.

Yeah.. its an intel board but pretty old... the agp slot is only 4x :o
Its a pretty old 380W power supply but there are some problems creeping in... got electrocuted by it there the other day... :o but no matter...
Cos my new system is coming together nicely...

Yeah i thought either heat or power was the problem but by the time things got bad enough for me to check the card in another computer, I'm afraid the damage was done :o
