Two Government Jobs

    Anybody know of any regulations to stop you having two government jobs. The deal is a friend who is fulltime in the army is looking for some part-time work with the post office and somebody mentioned that he would need to be careful in case he could not hold two government jobs at the same time.....

    Anybody know anything that stops him from taking the part-time position?

    Its normally in your contract that you can't take on another job with out the permission of your current one.

    Ah the good ould nixer. Soldiers are specifically precluded from having one, but that never stopped them before!

    Every soldier I know has another job, some their own businesses which are above board and all income being declared with the Revenue.......

    Is there anywhere you could direct me to where it says that soldiers are precluded from having a second job....

    Certainly. It would be in one of the Defence Forces Regulations which may be found in your unit orderly room. As these are all restricted documents and this is a public forum....
