Shoes from the US

Not sure if this is the right board or not

Anyhow, I had a pair of Nike runners bought for me as a present in the US. They now have a rather large rip in them. The person I got them from doesn't have the receipt anymore. Am I totally screwed?

I was thinking of going into Champion Sports to see would they take them back (I found out that Nike print the date of manufacture on the shoe). Anyone had any experience with this?

    Thanks!

Yeah don't go down the 'chancing your arm' route with Champion....you are better off ringing them, 11811 has the number of their office here in Dublin and they are quite helpful. Rang up about a bag i bought before that tore apart after only a few months. Sent a guy out to me and i got another bag.
