Having just watched series one again on DVD...

... I have to say that I'm doubly impressed with the quality and the pace of the series. I'd allowed myself some distance and time between the first viewing and my indulgence of viewing all episodes again on DVD at my leisure. I'd timed it so that I could watch it all afresh again, to see if any of my opinions had either softened or hardened on various aspects of the show, but I have to say it's still brilliant, and I discovered new depths to the storyline this time around.

The DVD set itself is nothing to write home about (just some cheesy deleted scenes as extras) but the show is worth collecting, and viewing again in advance of season 2.

For those of you who are waiting (like me) for the next installment to hit our screens in October - if you haven't already done so, go grab a cheap copy of the DVD box set in Virgin in town. They seem to be selling them off for approx €40. Enjoy :)

Note to self: Must resist urge to read threads on new episodes

Or you can wait a bit and get the far superior US DVD release, coming in a few months...
