    In certain parts of the world like regions of India for humans Iodine is scarce, and in others it's Selenium that's the limiting factor for cattle. For others the concentration is too high. Remember a story "Sucker Bait" by Asimov that relates to that problem of Beryllium in too high concentrations. In the war of the worlds, subtle differences in stuff like that could have been as harmful as bacteria without a quick cure. What other elements or compounds are likely to be limiting for us ? And which ones are toxic in excess besides they usual heavy metals ?
