I have returned to Ireland with the Green immigration slip still in my passport. Any one know how to deal with this?

    do they definitely take it?
I came back from US with 3 friends in January and they never took ours either?

Contact the airline. US immigration will show you as still in the country and it will cause you problems next time you try to visit the states.

Just had a check on the US embassy site. Have to send it to somewhere in Kentucky with a copy payslips or credit card slips showing I am living in Ireland aswell as the boarding card for the flight out of the States aswell as any stamps in my passport after the date I left. What a load of hassle............

Hassle yes - but needs to be done if you intend going back

They almost forgot to take mine at the US/Canadian boarder as well...luckily I noticed and we reversed and went back...the guy at the boarder was more than a little embarrassed (he had obviously thought I was Canadian like my friends who gave me the lift when in fact I'm Austrian).

I mean if they work like that who knows how many of those green slips get lost or misplaced somewhere.

Btw, I don't think you were the only one on that flight the airline didn't take the green slip from...

And it says on the website to bring copies of all the documentation you send to Kentucky with you the next time you travel in case there are any problems........

Definitely don't get stressed about it. It's been left in my passport a few times & I always just threw it away (not that I advise doing that). Nobody ever said a word to me when I re-entered the country.
The last time it happened, I just left it in my passport, and when I crossed the border from Canada to the US last September (04), the immigration guy said that he'd have to send it back (to Kentucky presumably). He just asked me when I'd left the US, what airport I'd departed from, the purpose of the visit & who my employer is in Ireland. He certainly didn't get excited about it & it caused no hassle.

I didn't get too stressed over it all. I did send all the paperwork they were looking for to Kentucky though. Better to be safe than sorry and all that...... I'd hate to get turned away from the States.

Happened me and asked Irish Imigration in Shannon. He took it off me and said he'd pass it over to US Immigration in Shannon... didn't seem to be a big deal...
