Looking for a good gutsy raw vocalist(male) for band with 12 demoed songs and ready to go. Parted ways with old singer recently.

    Ph. 087 6345829

Inlfuences are varied. But a chris cornell/eddie vedder/neil young/layne staley etc would be cool :)

Parting with your singer may be the biggest mistake you (plural) have ever made, we haven't been able to find a suitable one for almost a year, that's unless he really wasn't suited to you (plural). I find that no singers reply to these threads anymore so if you haven't already i advise that you put it flyers in music shops, guitar shops and cafes and stuff. You might want to give some influences and state an age group preference. Good luck.

just to clear the air over this mystery...

singers can be split into two categories

    1. the have a go singer:

someone who just thinks "sure ill give it a try" and just sort of falls into singing,, sometimes the spare guitarist or a friend, or just some guy
usually this type of person isnt looking to become a singer

    2. the singer

someone who trains there voice and loves singing in general, not just the idea of being in a band. this type of singer DOES NOT WANT to sing like james heftfield or kurt kobain or anthony keidis because thats them and everybody has there own voice

many times ive jammed with someone who's said after wards "could you make that a little raspier? could you sing that more <insert famous singer here>"

so there you have it, unless your going to offer something original here dont bother, ask a friend with a cool voice.
<metallica, slayer, hell is for heroes> or <chilli peppers without the rap>
means youve already got it in your head what type of voice you have which probably isnt the singers

there you go, food for thought

Well i'm in a band that've been looking for a singer for ages, we have never specified very definitely what we want, i think it's a problem regardless (the finding a singer problem) people aren't answering the call whether the searcher specifies or doesn't, what type of singer they want. Theyhurtme we are looking for a singer preferably around our age 17-21 if you are available an interested please tell us. (I am aware that i specified an age group but i think that is understandable)

Good luck Nidge, hope it works out.
Sorry I couldn't do the job, obviously had my mind elsewhere at the time y'know?
Anyway, gettin a new singer has taken you guys a serious amount of time, time ya could've spent moulding your own sound, songs, etc. But don't worry, you lot have potential, and you seem to be a hard-working group, so go for it.

    Best of luck mate

Thanks Seb, well the thing is we've decided on a sound that requires two guitarists with simply playing guitar duties so we need a separate singer, thanks for the support and it was a shame alright. :)
