Replacement Laptop Battery

I bought my laptop over a year ago in PC World. Everything has been fine up till about 2 months ago when the battery just gave out on my laptop.

Once the powercord is taken out, the laptop just goes dead straight away...this is really starting to bug me, it's defeating the purpose of a laptop!

Is this common in laptops for the battery to act like this after only a year??? I was just wondering if i will be able to get a replacement battery or is it likely that the battery i have can be repaired? Or would this be a fault?

    This is my laptop btw

    Thanks

my battery has never lasted over half an hour...dunno how long they should last.it depends on how you take care of it.do not keep it connected to the mains and keep the battery in etc.i would buy another one i guess but i know nothing of those other options

if you didn't look after it i.e. leaving it plugged into mains all the time fully charged it again when it was only half used this is what happens, i doubt it can be repaired.

Thanks for that, i will try that program and see what happens.

Though i actually think this battery is dead, will probably have to get a new one. I just checked power configuration and it says it is on AC power, that it is charging, but the battery is not charging at all. It is at 0% constantly.

I've done this with my own. To be honest its so much hassle unplugging the battery, and the battery life with a desktop replacment is dire anyway that I never bothered. So mine is shagged now. Lasts 5-10 mins. When new it only lasted an hour, so not much point in me buying a new one really.
