    hi all,

Can anyone tell me of any software that i can use to easily transfer files between 2 computers, i was using msn messenger today to do it but its painfully slow to do, i wanted to set up some sort of ftp, shared directory but ip address changes so that wont work, file share such as limewire would work in theory but i dont want whole world to access files just specified people.

    Thanks
    D

You could run a webserver on your PC and use something like dyndns in order to get around the dynamic IP problem. You could configure apache (the webserver) to require a password in order to access the files (you'd need to look at .htaccess files). That's work, but might be long.

Why not just lan them? I take it both comps are in the same location?
If not try out 'Grouper' (www.grouper.com) Creates a VPN of upto 30 users but can be utilised as a secondary VPN if required.
