My power supply fried. I'm getting a brand new one but I’m just afraid that it'll happen again. I’ve a lot of power running in the case. The strange thing was an audio cable (which I’ve been told carries no power) started to melt. its unplugged from the MoBo now but I’m just afraid something will happen again,

So I want someone that really knows what they are doing to give it a good look over and replace the audio cable and just make sure everything is running smoothly!

if you need an exact build of the machine let me know

do you know if the power supply took anything else with it when it went?

the ide cable going to the DVD drive, thats been replaced but the dvd drive makes a strange sound when in use, so i'm thinking that may be screwed a little. It works tho, just not as fast!

No problem i may even come to you. What specs are your computer and what psu are you thinking of getting?Make sure the +5v value is mininum 35 or 40 preferably.
I have seen big wattage power supplies with 30 which is not much good.

I must admit i cannot understand why the cable would have got damaged unless it got caught up with the fan and heat sink.

    regards kieran
