why dont you uninstall all the plugins and see if the problem persists , then reinstall them one at a time and see which one is the problem , i know the NoScript plug in was causing crashes but in firefox 1.05 and firefox 1.06 that seems to have been fixed

would need more details than that. How many instances of FF open? 1?2? or more. how many 'Tabs' open? Once you get up around ten tabs FF will act up (Not all the time though).

More than likely it could be a plug in is not installed correctly or your java may be corrupted.

Go into your application data folder and check at this location (If your using sun java)
    c:\Documents and Settings\your folder\Application Data\Sun\Java\
    Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar
(Where 'Your Folder' is the name of your Adminstrative Folder. Generally the name you gave the computer at system install)

This folder should be empty - if it isn't delete what is in there. Then check all your tmp folders under the sun folder, they also should be empty. If there not they will cause FF to mess up.

For further help you could visit 'Firemonger.org/forums' for info and help. Firemonger is a private project aimed towards beginners/advanced users of Firefox/Thunderbird. Only private FF support project officially endorsed by Mozilla. You'll get good help there and guest posting is allowed.

silly question I know, but have you got java enabled?

    Tools/options
select 'web features' and make sure you have java enabled.

if it's enabled it should be working. What java package do you have installed? Latest should be sun java 1.05[?] - had the same problem myself when I first started using FF and found I had to install the sun java stuff first for it to work.
