Can I Make SKY Equip Motorised and if so HOW

    Hi,

I live in Dublin City Centre,

I was thinking about getting a Freeview System, but, it's gonna cost about 200+ and then it's just stuck on one sat unless I buy a motorised system at more cost?

Ive decided I want to get the "SKY Family Package" but I'd love to mess around with the other Sat's and I'm especially keen to get the 2 Korean TV Station (on Hotbird 6 I think)

So I'm ordering SKY at getting all the equiptment and just paying 28 a month (and getting "Recomend a Friend" 2 x 45 Euros of Dunnes Vouchers as a bonus lol)

    MY QUESTIONs:
    1) Would I be able to use a motorised system with the standard equip supplied via SKY, (and) how much would getting it motorised cost?

    2) If so, would I encounter any problems if I asked the contractors appointed by SKY OR would it be better for any reasons (cost etc) to get it done another way?

Any help and advice and anything else I may have not considered appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Paul

Sky digiboxes can be used (albeit with some limitations) for recieving other satellites however the Sky minidish isint really big enough for recieving signals from other satellites (with the possible exception of Astra 1 (19E mainly German) and possibly some of the stronger transponders on Hotbird (although rain is likely to spoil reception of even these)

Another problem is that most (all ?) Sky boxes dont have DiSeQ capability so controlling a motorised dish could be problematic (although not insurmountable)

I would suggest buying a FTA system (which will still get all the BBC stuff) initially and subsequently adding a $ky digibox later on
