would you buy an acoustic from overseas and not buy a hardcase with it? I don't want it getting damaged..

Yes, but I would insist they pack it well.

Get the hard case. Its about an extra 50-100 euro if you're buying abroad. I got an acoustic from the states without a hard case. Cost me another 250euro when it got here to get it repaired and I was without it for weeks. I could have saved 150euro and all the damage if I got a case. Better safe than sorry imo

Why would you not want a case? If the retailer you're buying from is selling acoustics, they will have the cases to suit. Then there's the peace of mind issue. No wondering and worrying if what happened to GStorm may happen to you. I've seen one site in particular who will not ship a guitar without a case, due to insurance.

they will have a gigbag, not a hardcase, the more expensive guitars will, but i'm just buying an acoustic on a budget cos i miss having one.

If its on a budget keep an eye on buyandsell and put an ad in the wanted instruments section here

My brother bought an acoustic from the states, and although the box it came in was well wrapped, the guitar box, inside the other box, was not, leaving the guitar with plenty of room to rattle around.
He knew something was off when he picked it up and the head fell off....
