i stayed there a couple of weeks ago.
cant remember the name of the place,
but if you go to board failtes site, you can get a big list of places to stay in various cities.
theres about 20 places. its quiet expensive though, and most arre b&b. you want to book well in advance though. i had trouble getting a double room 4 weeks in advance...

Hi CB - I live in Kilkenny.

There's a few hotels and an utter $hitload of B&B's to choose from. I dunno how booked up etc they are, but the town is full of tourists at the moment.

Don't really know any of the B&B's as there's lots, but the hotels:

Hotel Kilkenny - In the city centre, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, all that stuff.
Newpark Hotel - On the Castlecomer Road on the way into town. Same as above
River Court Hotel - In the centre of town on the river bank with a view of Kilkenny Castle and the river. Leisure centre and all that.
Hibernian Hotel - Right in the centre of town at the top of high street/parade area. Many pubs and stuff nearby.
Ormonde Hotel - Next door to the Hibernian. 24hr multistory carpark next door.

I don't know anything about the pricing of these hotels btw smile.gif

Your best bet might be to ring the tourist office in Kilkenny (rose-inn street) and ask them about B&B's. tel: (056) 51500

Heh heh. I was wondering why the number Stephen posted for the tourist office was wrong. :) (they added 77 to the start of the phone numbers down Kilkenny way a few years ago)
