AG Neovo monitor - can monitor drivers cause PC to freeze up?

Hi all, I've got a bit of an odd problem here. I just got an AG Neovo F419 19" LCD. I set it up this morning - installed the drivers - and proceeded to test it by doing various tasks, including a good half hour of Half Life 2. It looked great (ghosting disappeared after only a couple of minutes) and I had no problems - until I tried to quit HL2. At the exact point I clicked 'quit' on the main menu (though this could be coincidence) the computer froze. It was the PC rather than the monitor that froze, as the sound also stopped. So I switched the PC off and then on again ; it loaded up, and then froze again before I had a chance to open any programs (moving mouse and tapping various keys did nothing). I restarted once again, and this time tried playing another game. It worked for 10 minutes, then froze again.

In short I don't have a clue what's going on. It seems like it's the monitor drivers causing this, although it could also have something to do with the fact that I installed an extra 512mb of RAM last week. On the day I installed the RAM, the PC would occasionally freeze up for a couple of seconds (but then get back to normal). I have no idea why that happened either, but it only happened on that one day.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has an AG Neovo monitor and any experience of using it, or simply if anyone knows what could cause the PC to lock up in this way? Thanks in advance!

might have something to do with the resolution changes as you leave the game
what res is windows at and what res is the game at?

there is an lcd option in the video options, id advise you to use that and change windows to that res before you go to play the game and see how it handles.

You could probably just delete the monitor driver. They really arent needed, as far as I've ever noticed anyway. Can't imagine what they'd even do.

    Some things to try

Download latest drivers here - http://www.neovouk.com/support/download.htm

Download and install latest graphics driver.

Remove the 512mb Ram - In case that has started acting up

And as Demonofthefall says you could also remove monitor driver.

Last resort update the Bios in case there is a Ram - Bios issue.

The in-game setting was 1280x1024 - the same as in Windows, and I don't think it's a game-related problem because of the time it crashed straight after loading Windows, before I started any programs. I'll try updating the drivers and see how it goes; thanks for the suggestions!

Annoyingly, I "updated" the driver only to discover it was the same version... from 2003! Seems Neovo don't bother bringing out new drivers :(

try using it with generic plug and play drivers, i have never had a problem with a monitor using them.
