Glasses frames

Need new glasses frames, after five years of wearing the same.

Would like opinions on what is sexy at the moment, as I could really do with a change of style. It seems that tortoisehell frames are in fashion. I have quite a small face, so would like to wear smallest frames as possible.

    Any ideas?

I bought black metal with kind of a bronze bit in places so they're not too harsh looking. All the smaller styles are in it seems (thank god!). If you need strong glasses, the smaller the frame the better, as strong glasses get thicker as you move out from the centre and will look weird in thin frames. There's also the weight issue - they would break any of the plastic frames because of being too heavy.

Go for something light and metal. Bring a camera phone with you to try on a few pairs so you can see them yourself properly. If you're going to have them for as long as you had the last ones, be careful what style you buy, as next year they could be out of fashion and you might feel weird having to wear them, and may have to replace them. Go for something neutral/classic that dont look out of style, but that isnt a passing phase either so you can wear them next year too.

Remember glasses that suit your face are virtually unnoticable. Some times people ask me do i wear glasses when i have contacts in, that they've never really took any notice of them. If they dont stand out, they're the ones that suit you.

as bamboozled said, when they're not very notice-able they seem to suit everyone.
In specsavers they have a camera you can use to check how the glasses look on you, very handy.
Also if you're willing to spend a bit of money on them, rimless are well worth investing in, as they look very classy on most people. Just make sure they're practical and not too small!

Be careful there though. I was going to get rimless last week but was told that I was basically too blind and I would need very expensive lenses because otherwise they'd appear too thick, even when pared down.

If your eyesight is poor then, you might want to consider, as I have done, small framed glasses that get pared down. The frame will mask some of the thickness of the lenses. I was also told that a particular curvature on the frames also hides the thickness of lenses..

I'll see exactly how good/bad mine are tomorrow when I pick them up. They cost a bloody lot so I better be impressed!!

Thanks for your ideas. Luckily, my lenses are not thick (-3 or so) so I'll have more choice. ;)
