Was thinking of getting a new guitar and thought this looked pretty sweet(considering I only have about E500 to spend)

But I was just wondering if washburn were any good. Never played one and dont know anyone who has one so dont know how reliable they are. Also would they be suited to rock/metal music

That's going to cost you a lot more than €500, once you factor in shipping and import taxes (plus the exchange rate is pretty crap at the moment).

Looks like a nice guitar but see if you can find one on www.guitarbargains.com who are based in Belgium and seem to be the cheapest around at the moment (and they're EU, so no import duty too).

At this stage I thought your post would've been cursing music123, not talking about tax etc..:D

Ahhh I ran out of curses for them a long time ago. I stay in my happy place now :p

    It says free shipping here

    http://www.music123.com/search/?src=Washburn+WI64DL+Electric+Guitar+

So it's only import tax (plus I have a bit more 500 is roughly what I wanna spend).

Anyway thanks I'll have a look at guitarbargains then so.

Btw are music123 still shít for delivering stuff(was yours not a year ago or something, maybe I'm wrong :o )

No no no, it's free shipping to the USA. It's about $100 extra to ship to Ireland.

    Read the small print

My drama with them was ages ago but it got brought back up because a mate of Feylya ordered a guitar a couple of months ago from them which still hasn't surfaced. In my case, my order looked like it was hacked and, despite my efforts, none of them did a thing and I spent almost two months frantically trying to see what they had done with over €1000. I will never order from them again. Ever.

It's free shipping within the US, your going to have to pay about €100 for shipping here, plus 21% vat...........

Oh yeah, you get charged import duty on the cost of the guitar plus the cost of shipping in this country, bear that in mind. Check the instrument resources sticky, there's an import duty calculator on it. It will tell you roughly how much it'll cost in total.

In fairness though, DJ did have a bad experience but that doesn't mean it's going to happen to you. All of the transactions I've done with them have been great - they did forget a free gig bag once but they sent it to me at their expense the day after I informed them. Every online store will get some horror stories now and again. I wouldn't let that discourage you.

A friend of mine has that guitar. It's ok.

I've dealt with wwbw.com, same company with a different name, in the past and any problems are sorted out.

Ive played a load of washburn guitars and i loved every single one of em so far.As for music 123 there good prices and the service is good as long as you live in the usa See the thing is they have a load of small print too which kinda sucks and makes me not trust em that much. One idea is to get someone you know thats coming home from the states to bring it back with him/her thats what i did when i was getting a guitar, i got my amp from there too and somehow i dodged paying all tax by just pleading with the people in the postoffice saying that the site didnt mention it, dunno how i managed to get away with that one.

Getting back to washburn guitars, a story i had is one of my amigos got a signed cp-2002 dime culpritt (it was dimes old custom axe) and by playing it so much he scrope off dimebags sig!!!!An idiot or what!! sweer ass sounding guitar aftter putting a dimebucker in it but it coulda sounded unreal with the pickups dime actually used(Bill Lawrence XL-500)
