    Im looking for the cheapest way possible to get across Europe. I dont want to inter-rail because I'm only gonna be there for 2 weeks, so it wouldnt be worth it.
    The end location is supposed to be Munich.
    So far we have managed to work out how to get to a) Paris, or b) Amsterdam.
    It looks like Paris is going to be the one we are heading for.
    So basically its
    DUBLIN->HOLYHEAD->BIRMINGHAM->LONDON->DOVER->CALLAIS->PARIS
    After that, well I was thinking
    PARIS->REINS->METZ->STRASBOURG->MUNICH

    Has anyone tried anything like this before?
    Any tips that i should know?
    Or a better route? smile.gif

    Cheers

    Wow that is one hell of a trip, how long are you planning to spend at each of the destinations? Sorry I can't provide any information on buses so this is off-topic I guess.. But I wanted to wish you luck! Travelling is good.

    It's just a tail, but I'm sort of attached to it.

    smile.gif ah well thats half the fun
    I suppose its going to depend on how much money i have, and if we can find a place to stay...
    We dont have anywhere booked.So we will mainly be sleeping on trains/buses and in fields in the tent, and as none of us can speak french or german, and have basically no idea of anything in the countries, our plan is to go to Irish bars and try to make friends who will take care of us biggrin.gif

    You know how it is, these things just always sort themselves out.

    I did Cork - Rosslare - Fishguard - London - Dover - Calais - Maastricht - Dusseldorf - Paris in school.

    I did Dublin - Holyhead - London - Dover - Ostende - Paris - Bordeaux - Pamplona in college.

    I did Dublin - Holyhead - London - Dover - Ostende - Brussels 2 years ago.

    The problem is you spend too much time on the bus and not enough time where you want to be. Trains are more direct and operate on longer routes.

    Not necessarily - you can go from Dusseldorf to Munich for a 40 DM and the best part is that also covers your 4 mates.
