    im goin to buy 256 ram today but i need to know am i gettin the right kind.
    i have amd sempron 2200 with nf7 mother board, can someone suggest what i might need? thanx in advance

    I'd imagine it's DDR PC2700 or PC3200 from what you've said ...

    Get a program like cpu-z from www.cpuid.com and it will tell you what type of memory you have installed !

    Yes, that would sound about right.

    PC3200 is DDR RAM. It's also known as DDR400.

    May aswel get PC3200 ( DDR400 ) RAM anyway, As it is backward compatible with PC2700 & 2100. ( 166 & 133 ) And also PC3200 Is the cheapest and most common around. If you are looking for some Good cheap budget RAM check out http://shop4memory.com . They have some pretty cheap deal's there.
