    Hi there,

NTL have cut me off even though I paid my bill and I've been on the phone to them for a week now and still haven't been reconnected. The guy who disconnected me covered the cable box (on the eaves of the house) with nut covers with loose outer sleeve that can't be removed without a special tool, does anyone know where I could get one? These NTL guys are jokers!

NTL are the worst company in Ireland. It gets my blood boiling just to think about them. They are sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!!!

Their customer service is the worst by far and communication between company departments is non existant.

I can tell you many many stories about the crap crap service they have give me over the years.

May they burn long and hard

Sorry I cant help with your problem though.
I just felt like I needed to rant and get that off my chest. :)

Get on the phone and tell them you're a new customer - they'll be out to you in no time!

i came home yesterday from work.. no TV, neither basic or digital. rang ntl today and was told that they'll have to wait to see if they get any other calls complaining of similar failures at which stage their "emergency response" team will go out. if they do not get any such calls then it must be a fault with my connection and they will notify the repair team who will be out within 24-48 hours thereafter. all tolled it could be a week before the fecken thing is up and running. when i asked about the disruption period being taken off my bill i was told that i'd have to ring back and talk to customer service.

brutal service... and i am a new customer

They will not give you any idea of when they will come to fix it but they will expect you to take time off work and sit in and wait for them all day. They cant even give you a quick call to say they are on their way.

Then they may or may not even turn up

I finally gave up on their digital service last year. I took loads of time off work to wait for them to call. They eventually ended up changing the digibox 3 times. When it broke again they said the repair guy would take 3 days to turn up. I finally told them to stick it. They said 'no problem' and had a guy around to disconnect my digital and collect the digibox in 3 hours.

    Go figure

after i discontinued their service a couple years ago it took weeks to get them to come and disconnect me. FFS.
g'wan ... go to the dark side... go get Sky.
you *won't* miss ITV or Ch4 (TV3 show most of the popular ITV programmes and Ch4 has most of its content on E4). You could also get one of the easily available UK cards if you really really want ITV & Ch4 (go look in the satellite forum).

You mentioned that the box is on the wall of your house.

I heard of an individual snipping the cable going into and out of the junction box cutting off others on the street. When NTL came out to investigate the individual told them to stay off his land.

NTL aggreed to reconnect him free of charge in order to connect up the neighbours again.
