The problem i think is i am not getting a Reverse DNS from eircom. In my mirc options it gives you the ip address and local host auto. the problem i am having is it does not give me the local host which i used to have something like limerck.eircom.net??????. i am not using a firewall and the right ports are open for mirc. It has something to do with eircom because when i set up a firewall i use grc.com to probe my ports. in the sheilds up option on that site i used to always get a reverse dns now i dont. Any help i am stumped!!!!

That's a seriously vague description, any chance you could elaborate on what the problem with Mirc is? What sort of errors are you getting upon connection?

You have an IP either way, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to set up an fserve other than that you don't have some piece of software somewhere configured correctly.

I don't have a reverse DNS and I have no problems with such connectivity.

Moved to computers. Probably better off in IRC now that I think about it, but ohwell.
