Dreams - Linked to future?

Sorry, never been on this section of Boards before. Just wondering if my story is common to anyone else.

I rarely have dreams that are worth remembering but over the last few years, on very rare occasions (about eight times), I'd have a vivid dream about something, nothing spectacular but during these dreams I'd see a flash of a face of someone I vaguely know or have very rarely seen. Mostly it's of an old school mate that I would'nt have seen in about ten years or an old pal from a sports team from a young age. The following day, I'd be walking around the shopping centre or driving to work and I'd see this person. They could be standing at a bus stop or going to work in their car!

It's so freaky, I may not have seen this person in years and then BANG...there they are!

Is this just an unreal coincidence or something else.....?

    Cheers.

I have not dreamt about people like that exactly... but sometimes when you suddenly learn a new skill / word / meet a new person... you find this new skill / word / person popping up all over the place in the next day or two.

Don't know why..but guess its just because you didn't notice this before... cos you didn't know it existed.

Its like if you decide to change your car, you will suddenly see the make youd really like everywhere!
Its impossible to say whether your mind has jumped forward a few hours in your dream and given you a trigger for what is going to happen, or whether seeing a particular person in a dream has brought them into your thoughts which may only be coincidental to your seeing them. One argument would be that the dreams where we see people who DONT turn up the next day dont stick in our minds anyway.
What you describe is very common, so who knows?

Ive had a good few dreams that have come true. The freekiest was dreaming of a tidal wave the night before Tsunami. I went to a fortune teller one time and she told me to analyse and pay attention to my dreams.

I've always been very interested in dream interpretation. I sometimes dream of things and then they happen the next day. Its crazy.

It's never happened me through dreams before, but there's been a load of times that I'd think of someone out of the blue and then I'd bump into them or they'd phone me. I think experiences like this are fairly common, especially the phone version.

I do think dreams are linked to the futre. About a month ago I had a dream where someone was in the hospital, I couldn't see who it was but I heard that they only had 2 weeks to live. Exactly 2 weeks to the day a very good friend of mine died after only a 3 day illness.
Then last week I had a dream that my leg was bleeding, a couple of days later I fell off a ladder and cut all my leg.
The I dreamt that hubby cut himself, 4 days later he sawed through his thumb.
Too bad I don't dream the lotto numbers!

I had a dream of a plane(747 like) crashing in new york .The next day one crashed in Long Island. It was caused by mechanical error but was after
9/11 . Last night I had a dream I was in a building( possibly sky scrapper ) and something was casuing it to crash from within: the floors were collapsing beneath me. Think dreams have more to do with your insecurities than visions of the future though.

I have to say it is a fascinating idea of dreams and future..I did have a very vivid dream a few weeks ago i was sittin out eatin dinner with my family except the table was in a different position and i was looking towards to west, and a massive mushroom cloud went off in the west direction...i hope it doesnt mean anything but i have had dreams very vague that occur as deja vu when the event happens..when i meet some1 i remember i vaguely dreamed about it a year befor hand..its wierd. they reckon deja vu has something to do with sudden events entering the long term memory rather than going through short term first...might justify that maybe people who get this quiet a lot; might have a specific wiring in their brain..just like being left handed.
Other than that, its hard to explain...no science will ever explain psychic power i assume..
Some psychics might believe they can tell the future..How can we prove whether they're actually seeing the events or what! :)

When you're in Alpha 12.39 ~ 9.9 Hz Start of Meditation level you start to access you're deeper consciousness. If you meditate more you can become more aware of your daydream state which is the level of creation.
