This Way Up - Issue 2 Launch
    Tuesday July 26th
    6pm, Curved Street Cafe
Upstairs in Filmbase, Arthouse, Curved St, Temple Bar

Dublin's serialised graphic novel returns, with a new
showcase of artists and more of Dublin depicted in its
pages. Following the release of the debut issue in
February, issue 2 continues the story with 32 pages of
more original artwork from seventeen artists,
including Bren B (Toenail Clippings) and Fiona
    Dowling.

Distributed throughout Dublin and select locations in
Cork, Belfast and London, This Way Up is a creative
freesheet that fills the gap between art galleries,
book shops and the city's streets. Each page of the
script is done by a different artist, ranging from
graphic designers, widely exhibited painters, as well
as new work from talented illustrators who haven't yet
published their work publicly or simply didn't
consider themselves 'artists'. Each issue is an open
call for new contributors, ensuring that a fresh set
of artists are continually coming to the fore to show
their talent. Fans of the project include Daniel
Clowes (Ghost World), Kid Koala (Nufonia Must Die),
    and Paul Hornschemeier (Forlorn Funnies).

Issue 2 will be launched in collaboration with the
Curved Street Cafe in Filmbase, giving a chance to see
original artwork and meet some of the artists
involved. An online version of the issue 2 will soon
be available at our website, www.thiswayup.ie (this is being redesigned currently)

There are some copies of issue one still available in Anthology Books if you haven't picked one up yet.

For any queries, please contact Chris Fite-Wassilak at
    0863135880 or e-mail thiswayup@yahoo.ie.
