Moaning poker players(rant)

One draw back of poker at the moment is those players who simple moan and whinge about someone elses play. If someone pushes all in with AA and gets called and beaten with QJ, then the AA will usually moan how terrible the other player is blah blah blah.
I have seen posts on here and other boards where people write in calling others idiots and being amazed they could be called with certain hands.

You can be called by any hand, you do not have a divine right to win the pot if you are in front pre flop, poker is a game of probablities, if you get beat by a lesser hand, say well played and move on.

Please do not inform everyone how you should of won the hand. Not everyone follows the "poker guidelines". And just so it doesn't look like I am the player usually winning these pots, I lost $120 on partypoker when I called an all in with AA only to be beat by a 66, those the beats....

    Now rant over... :D

almost completely agree with you..... I say almost because I have no problem with people coming on here and ranting about there bad beats... or how a player played badly etc... that is partly what the boards are for.... getting out your frustration can also be an aid....

It is also good for beginner players to see these rants... it gets it into there heads what constitutes good play Vs terrible play.

Thats assuming that here on boards we are all rooting for each other.. which seems to be the general consensus.

What I do agree with you about is doing this while playing a game of cards. I can see no benefit to explaining in detail to a poor player the mistakes he has made. One of two things is going to happen... he is going to take your advise and start to learn the game..... which we dont want. Or else he will get scared off from all the talk and move tables... which we dont want.

I see it all the time, and I am fully sure that I have lost money due to other people ranting at bad plays etc... commenting on how they would play the hand etc...
of course the other side of that coin is that you learn a bit about the player doing the ranting as well......

i think it was hectorjelly who wrote a great opening sardonic line in 'poker player ireland' which answers this.

"if you are reading this you want to improve your game and you've avoided the biggest mistake of all, not educating yourself, something i can stil count on a large amount of players to do".

tbh i love the bad beat stories.....i'm the useless player that flukes pots and tend to win for all the wrong reasons ( :o ) and while i only really play in family (and friend) home games and the odd internet session, i really like to hear what constitutes good and bad play.

Just finished reading a book called "Zen and the Art of Poker". If you read it you'll find that there's no point in moaning like a baby even though it feels good, its a waste of enery that could be better focussed concentrating on the game at hand. I have to say its a great book and only a 170 pages or so so its an easy read. Once you read it it will improve your game no end. :)

This is my favourite book. It will save the reader a high percentage of his losses in the long run.

Nice to be quoted even if someone else gets the credit. :)
