    Check this out,
    http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/

The idea is that the displays on the keys can change contextually.
Looks like a fantastic idea and apparently the company has a record of bringing its ideas to market.
    Here's hoping :D

It seems to be based on a mac keyboard presently.

Damn, that's the exact same thing (with a few minor improvements) I invented a few weeks back .
Not that I physically made it or anything, but I have a drunken sketch on a post-it to prove it.

sounds like a water-tight patent court case in your favour so.

Mobile phones work fine, they dont need to be in the dark to use.

If you had software that monitored what keys you pressed and then on every boot up changed the keyboard around so that it would make typing easier (granted it'd be no good for games). A keyboard with a layout that (eventually) is customised exactly to your needs.

If you are an elite programmer who can write sophisticated code under tight deadlines, someone who makes impossible projects possible; or a Silver Web Surfer your colleagues turn to when they need IT advice: this keyboard is for you.

Shouldn't your keyboard reflect your status as one of the elite? We think so!

    HEIL DAS KEYBOARD
