Well i went to england this weekend for a short holiday and while there my brother gave me a surfing dvd. He said that he tried to play it on his pc but it didnt seem to want to work. We stuck it in a normal dvd player and it worked fine?
So this morning i stuck it in my pc to try give it a watch and its not working either :( . I tried powerDvd and it comes up with an error

""Please clean the surface of the disc if possible. If it has been scratched, it might not be readable.""

I then click details and it says:

""The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation.""

Tried it with WinDvd and that doesnt work either. THe disk is basically new and has only been played a few times, it has no scratches. Why will it only work in a normal dvd player but not on any pc's ?? :(

    Thanks 4 any help

Some sort of copy protection I'd say.....Will only play in a DVD player not recorder

So if i just got a normal dvd player, and not a dvd copier it should work in the pc??
That sucks, my dvd player for my tv is a htpc, so it doesnt want to work on that either obviously :(. Any1 no a way around this?

EDIT>>> Ok i just had a look at my htpc and it cant be that! The drive in that pc is just a dvd player, not copier, and it comes up with the same error on there?

If the problem is some copy protection on the disc, simply copy it with DVD Decrypter (and DVD Shrink if necessary). The copy you make will play on your PC.
