Looking to buy a pda, budget 300 yoyos. Want to read ebooks on the train, play a few games to pass the time, maybe edit the odd excel or word doc. Any recommendations please, as I am completely new to pda's.

What OS Palm or Windows etc etc

Try the Dell PDA's. The X31's are cheap enough now and are quite powerful. They are windows OS. I'd go for them over Palm based devices as I dont think palm are going to come up with the goods in the next few years.
